Research Interests

Current research interests include information integration and machine learning applied to geospatial data sets.

Personal Information

I was born and grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. I graduated from Information Management Dept. at National Taiwan University , where I worked with Professor Yeong-Sung Lin. Then, I served in the military as a coast guard for two years in the East Coast Bureau.

I came to Los Angeles at 2003, and finished my Master of Science degree from Computer Science Dept. at University of Southern California. After graduation, I worked for Information Sciences Institute with Professor Knoblock in the Information Integration Research Group. Currently, I am working in Geosemble Technologies as a research scientist

I am also studying in the field of Film, Television, and Digital Entertainment Media in UCLA Extension. I am crazy about everything of movie and television. I even appeared in several TV shows during my childhood.

Code

    Google Map Tile Cutter
  • To generate tiles for Google Map is always a tedious work, especially if you do not have the geocoordinates of the maps which you want cut. A very good site here can help you to identify the location of the maps and cut the tiles. However, if you already registered the maps (i.e., have the geocoordinates file associate with the maps), here's the C# code (includes Microsoft Visual Studio solution) I used to cut the tiles. GoogleMapTileCutter.zip
